Since May 2025, archaeological excavations have been carried out at the Sorlakmola II burial ground located in the Oiyl River valley and dated to the Hun-Sarmatian period.
The project is being implemented by the archaeological team of the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore in cooperation with the West Kazakhstan branch of the A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology.
First-year students of the History Faculty at K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University also took part in the research, completing their archaeological field practice at the site.
